2020 Mo-99 International Symposium

April 26-30, 2020 — InterContinental Prague Hotel, Prague, Czechia

Building a Global Partnership to Supply Medical Isotopes

without the use of Highly Enriched Uranium

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) is pleased to announce that it will host a Molybdenum-99 (Mo-99) International Symposium in Prague, Czechia at the InterContinental Prague Hotel from April 26-30, 2020. The Symposium will highlight global progress being made towards eliminating highly enriched uranium (HEU) from medical isotope production, showcase global non-HEU Mo-99 production technologies and provide a technical and policy forum for discussion of Mo-99 industry and supply issues.

The five-day event is being organized by the Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory and will include oral presentations of technical and policy papers, a poster session, and a technical tour of Research Reactor LVR-15, which provides irradiation services for Mo-99 producers. More information regarding DOE/NNSA’s Mo-99 program can be found at https://www.energy.gov/nnsa/nnsa-s-molybdenum-99-program-establishing-reliable-supply-mo-99-produced-without-highly.
