Event Information
About this Event
Join us for this special community celebration! One of the largest community gatherings of the year, the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Breakfast reaches across the entire community to honor the legacy of Dr. King.
On Monday, January 20th South Bend Heritage will join the Martin Luther King Jr. Foundation of St. Joseph County to present the 34th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. Highlights of the Celebration include the Community Service Recognition Breakfast, the Memorial March, and the Youth Program. Each year the celebration brings thousands of people together to honor the legacy of Dr. King.
In addition to the Keynote Speaker, special singing and performances, the Drum Major for Community Service Award is presented annually during the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Recognition Breakfast by the Mayors of Mishawaka and South Bend to individuals who unselfishly give their time and resources to help improve St. Joseph County.
Tickets to the breakfast cover the cost of the meal and any proceeds are used to support the entire day of celebration. Additional funding is used to provide scholarships for area students.
