Performance Essentials: Updating What We Know and How We Apply It

Recognizing that every athlete has a diverse background and learning style is critical for effective teaching and coaching at all levels. The 2020 Kansas Sport Performance Summit will focus not only on the importance of this interaction between coach and athlete, but also on masterful execution of the basics used every day in training.

This year's guest speakers will highlight the importance of being a master in the fundamentals of everyday training. With purposeful cueing and the creation of an environment that fosters deliberate practice, training moves beyond the physical into the minds of both the Coach and Athlete. Additionally, an emphasis on distilling useful information and purposeful decision making with technology will also be discussed. The information covered will be both educational and practical, offering practitioners immediate take home messages they can “use tomorrow” to help athletes in training and competition.

Take advantage of the opportunity to experience the latest methods from sports performance experts who represent some of the nation’s most successful athletic programs.
