Scene work is the foundation of Improv, this class will guide you to create meaningful character relationships, find the “game of the scene”, and move through scenes from beginning to end using various improvisational tools. This class is great for beginners, for people who give presentations, who work in sales or even someone who just wants to improve their communication skills. You will also learn the meaning of improv and how you can take it in the real world, on a day to day basis.

Matt White is a class clown success story. With a mission to find the funny in every situation, White performs stand up comedy at Goodnight’s Comedy Club in Raleigh, NC.

White honed his observational comedy skills through years of improv and theatrical training (and being 1 of 9 kids raised in a female dominated household may have played a minor role, too). As a student at East Carolina University, White founded a comedy organization on campus, mostly so he could book stage time.

In 2013, White was named Carolina’s Funniest Comic; he was awarded Port City Top Comic in 2012. White has performed in the Asheville Comedy Festival, LA Diversity In Comedy Festival, Red Clay Comedy Festival, Big Pine Comedy Festival and Cleveland Comedy Festival. He is one of the co-producers/founder of the Oak City Comedy Festival, Raleigh NC's only 5 day comedy festival.

Among those with whom White has had the privilege to work include: Alonzo Bodden, Tony Woods, Tim Meadows, Jon Reep, Mia Jackson, Jordan Carlos, Tig Notaro, Rory Scovel, Bret Ernst, Sean Patton, Orlando Jones, Nene Leakes, Andrew Schulz, Nate Bargatze, Joe Zimmerman, Tone Bell, Donnell Rawlings, Nicole Beyer, Brent Morin, and JP Sears.
