Description

The Food and Growers Association is hosting their annual winter conference on February 1 at Batesville Middle School. The event will feature speakers and educational presentations for producers/farmers, home gardeners, and consumers of local foods. This year's theme is: "Diversity". The conference will offer two tracks, including lectures relevant to farmers/producers, and another aimed at home gardeners and consumers. Topics will include:

  • Weather Weirdness and its implications for diversity on the farm
  • agri-tourism
  • diverse marketing techniques
  • invasive plants
  • permaculture
  • growing food with the solar cycles
  • growing food in different spaces
  • diverse food preservation techniques
  • where we all fit in a diverse and thriving food system

More information on speakers and schedule will be posted to our website, foodandgrowers.com, as it becomes available.

A delicious lunch will be provided by Izzy's Catering. Locally produced foods and other items will be available for purchase from various vendors. Other organizations may also have booths, providing opportunities for networking and further learning.

Tickets are limited, so please register early! Register early for lower ticket prices, through January 18th. After January 18th, ticket prices raise by $5.00.

Remember, the conference is a great time to renew your yearly FGA membership-- we will have registration forms available on site!
