Description

The federal Fair Housing Act requires that certain multi-family housing constructed for first occupancy after March 13, 1991, contain accessibility features to enable people with disabilities to more easily use it. North Carolina's law likewise requires accessibility features in certain types of multifamily housing.

This free seminar will cover the substantive requirements of these provisions, as well as scoping requirements. Topics include:

  • Design and Construction Requirements of the Fair Housing Act: Technical Overview
  • Accessible Routes of Travel
  • Accessible Public and Common Use Areas
  • Accessible Units, including Kitchens and Bathrooms

Attendance at the seminar is free. However, registration is required.
