On September 25, 2020, the T. Thomas Fortune Cultural Center opened its doors to a sold out night to remember for the long-awaited exhibit, A Love Letter to Count Basie: From The Great Migration to The Harlem Renaissance.

This is the first time the Count Basie collection has been shared publicly since its 2018 acquisition by the Institute for Jazz Studies, the world’s foremost jazz research center, located on the campus of Rutgers University – Newark.

All are invited to experience the rich history of Count Basie and enjoy Red Bank, NJ, the town where this music master was born and raised. Exhibit Hours: Saturday & Sunday 1PM- 6 PM.
