Cold Feat 5/10K Trail Race - Supporting the Greenbelt Conservancy

Saturday, February 22, 2020

9:45 am staggered start time for each distance

Early bird pricing for adult 5K and 10K entries until January 25

We run in all weather condtions; hikers are also welcome!

Closer to the race day, we will announce a date for a free running clinic that will familiarize you with the Cold Feat course.

About the Race and Course

Cold Feat will once again offer two distance choices! The 5K runners will be on a separate part of the course, and will go out 15 minutes ahead of the 10K runners.

Start/finish is by the historic David LaTourette House, which, today operares as the LaTourette clubhouse for this beautiful golf course. The Cold Feat course begins on the rolling fairways and takes you off into the surrounding Greenbelt trails - rustic and hilly.  In trail running, you will encounter uneven terrain, exposed tree roots, and sometimes mud.  The course is marked but it's necessary to pay close attention to where you're running. This is a great trail race that attracts a friendly group of runners from Staten Island and the tri-state area - it's a effective remedy for cabin fever!

Runners will recieve a high quality running shirt or hat, chip timing and refreshments.  An awards ceremony with beautiful medals for top three male/female winners, and three deep in age categories, will follow.

We run in all weather conditions and, based on past race experiences, have found it can be done!  This race will be professionally timed culminating in a medal ceremony.  Refreshments and high quality race apparel (a hat or shirt) are provided for the first 120 runners.

The Grille Room bar will be open to serve runners over the age of 21. Hot chocolate and coffee will also be for sale.

There will be no refunds offered for tickets purchased; please make sure you can make it before purchasing!

Not running? Come out and voluneer with us!  We have fun assignments indoors and out, both before and during race day. We can provide community service credit for students, and we welcome families.  Email: volunteer@sigreenbelt.org or call 718-667-2165, ext. 311.

Your participation and race fee help to support the Greenbelt Conservancy and its mission to protect, promote and sustain Staten Island's 2,800-acre Greenbelt. The Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working in partnership with NYC Parks, also provides environmental education initiatives for children and adults of all ages and leads trail maintenance and beautification projects that help keep the Greenbelt's 35-mile trail system in great hiking and running condition. Thank you for your support!
