About this Event

Citizens' Climate Lobby 2020 Tornadoes Regional Conference

We are the People; Now is the Time!

March 13-15, Wichita, KS

CCL builds the political will for our elected representatives to take action on climate change. With the reintroduction into Congress of The Energy Innovation & Carbon Dividend Act, an effective, bipartisan climate bill, that political will is more important than ever! This year, we’ll use our consistently respectful, nonpartisan approach and our shared values to make this strong, fair climate legislation a reality.

Our Regional Conference is an opportunity for new and experienced CCL volunteers to learn, practice skills, inspire each other, and strategize to move our country toward taking critically needed climate action.

Program Summary: (updates will be posted and sent to those registered)

  • Planting Seeds for Climate Solutions: The impact of climate change and solutions on farming will be discussed by a panel of regenerative farmers, scientists and rural community activists.
  • CCL Diversity Outreach Coordinator Princella Talley will address ways to diversify chapter rosters and engage minority group leaders.
  • CCL Vice President of Programs Madeleine Para will train us and give us an update on CCL’s 2020 agenda.
  • Breakout sessions will focus on conservative outreach, grasstops endorsements, diversity outreach, and nurturing hope and beauty in the face of climate crisis.
  • Individuals and chapters are encouraged to prepare stand-alone posters that highlight topics and activities relevant to CCL, success stories and lessons learned to share with conference attendees.
