Join us for the 2020 Child Abuse Prevention Conference! The conference integrates relevant, thought-provoking discussions with prevention professionals and peer-to-peer networking opportunities. As champions for children, attendees will be provided opportunities to update skills in serving communities, families, and children through advocacy, awareness, and assistance; and to formulate new strategies to develop professionally while helping to create happy and safe childhoods for children. Conference attendees are nurses, social workers, counselors, family therapists, parent educators, and in-home support workers representing agencies throughout Iowa.

Education provided to these professionals improves their practices in providing resources and education to parents, increases their knowledge of emerging research in improving child development, and helps them engage their communities in creating safer, nurturing environments for all children.

Prevent Child Abuse Iowa is happy to bring this valuable education to all family support professionals in Iowa and thanks our presenting sponsor the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program with the Iowa Department of Public Health.

The conference will include 30 dynamic sessions centered around home visiting, infant and children mental health, trauma informed practices, adolescent support, board development, parent supports, community wrap-around services, mental health, and sexual health. The conference will also include two keynote speakers, lunch on Monday and Tuesday, and an awards ceremony.
