Event description
Join us for the 2020 National Conference!

About this Event

The Apraxia Kids National Conference is the only major conference on the speech, language, learning, and life needs of children with apraxia of speech. The National Conference brings together parents, professionals, educators and others who are seeking the most up-to-date and in-depth learning opportunities available.

Since 2004, over 4,100 attendees have joined us across the country! For many, the National Conference changed the trajectory of their experiences as a parent or professional. Parents go from feeling isolated and unsure, to developing a network of support and foundation of knowledge. Professionals learn the most evidence-based methods and approaches for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

As your making your travel arrangements, please note that the National Conference will begin in the late afternoon on Thursday, July 9 and finish in the late afternoon on Saturday, July 11.

We are thrilled to be hosting our third-ever Research Symposium in 2020 in the days prior to the Apraxia Kids National Conference. Comprised of 16 hours of research presentations, discussions, and brainstorming for the future, this event is certain to be invaluable to our apraxia community.

The 2020 Research Symposium is intended to be a forum for researchers to look critically at the past, present, and future research projects pertaining to childhood apraxia of speech. This group of researchers will engage in a reflection of past and present research projects in order to make recommendations for what steps are needed for future research. Due to the nature of these discussions and the limited size of our venue, only the professional community will have access to register for the Research Symposium.

We know that many others outside of those who attend the Research Symposium will be interested in learning the outcomes of this event. For this reason, we will share a summary of the Research Symposium during the welcome session of the National Conference on Friday morning.

This event is co-chaired by Dr. Jonathan Preston and Dr. Tricia McCabe.

As you are making travel arrangements, please note that the research symposium will begin at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, July 7 and conclude at 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 9.
