Event description

Description

Please join us for a roughly 2.5 hours wagon ride on May 11th, and discover how the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources manages the former rice fields of the Santee Gun Club to attract a variety of waterfowl and shorebirds throughout the year. Santee Coastal Reserve is a SCDNR Wildlife Management Area

Please follow the Gun Club Road for about 3 miles. The meeting spot is the parking area in front of the large brown building; the former Gun Club.

It is recommended that participants wear sturdy shoes, bring water, snacks, bug repellent, binoculars (optional) and come prepared for any weather .

Please contact Heather Clarkson if you have further questions. She can be reached at heather.clarkson@carolinawetlands.org or via email at heather.clarkson@carolinawetlands.org.

A $10 tax-deductible donation to the Carolina Wetlands Association is suggested and can be donated on the day of the field trip. You may also contribute to Carolina Wetlands Association by clicking the paypal link below: https://www.paypal.com/fundraiser/charity/1991082.
