Westchester County Executive George Latimer, and Putnam County Executive Mary Ellen Odell, invite businesses, partner agencies, community organizations, and educational leaders from across all sectors to participate in the Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board’s 2019 Annual Meeting on Friday, June 14, 2018, 8:30 am–10:30 am at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc, Tarrytown, NY.
This year’s meeting theme “Reaching for New Horizons” focuses on the critical issues impacting workforce and economic development — talent shortages, skills gaps, and youth barriers, particularly in STEAM and other in-demand sectors.
This year’s program features Melinda Mack, Executive Director of the New York Association of Training & Employment Professionals, who will introduce these topics and moderate a panel of experts in exploring challenges, opportunities, and solutions. Panelists include: Jill Lansing, Assistant Vice Chancellor & Director for Education Pipeline Initiatives at The State University of New York and Amber Mooney, Director of Workforce Development for The Business Council of New York State, and Lisa Purcell, Senior Staff Scientist, Infectious Diseases; Scientific Director, Secondary Education Program

THE WESTCHESTER-PUTNAM WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD (WPWDB) is comprised of leaders and staff of state and county government agencies, non-profits, public education, and the private sector who work together to strengthen the partnerships between business, education, and service providers within the “Career Center Network” to meet the needs for a skilled workforce. The WPWDB pursues funding opportunities and develops model programs and leading-edge practices.
