Connect with a network of Vermont food & beverage producers who share your vision of promoting Vermont's brand and business growth. This year our agenda is filled with multiple built-in networking opportunities and informative sessions focused on business basics.

We are expecting 100 attendees from new and well-established regional companies including producers, retailers, and business service providers.

9:15am: Don't Let Reality Bite - Tools & Strategies for Managing Cash in Your Business Presented by Elena Gustavson, Business Resource Manager at Vermont Community Loan Fund Let’s talk cash! During this session, Elena will show you how to build, love and use cash flow tools effectively as well as how to incorporate a budget that reflects your actual business needs, desire for growth, and potential for transition. Warning: There will be spreadsheets and candy involved.

10:05am: Common and Complex HR Challenges
Presented by Kristina R. Brines, PHR, SHRM-CP of Paul Frank + Collins
In this session, we will explore various scenarios that test our HR acumen on a daily basis. This will be an interactive discussion about complex situations and how to handle them in a practical (and legal!) manner. Issues covered will include: dealing with employee complaints, managing performance issues and handling leave requests.

11:10am: Cash Flow Panel - Know Your Options
Presented by Dan Winslow of Vermont Community Loan Fund, Ben Maniscalco of Benito's Hot Sauce, and Mark Elvidge of Vermont Nut Free Chocolates.
During this session each panellist will share their experience and expertise using specific practices of cash flow. Topics include: loans, working capital, invoice factoring, purchase order financing, and merchant financing. After presentations the panel will open up to a round table discussion with questions from the audience.

12:55pm: Five Things to Know About Workers Comp
Presented by Shannon Prescott of The Richard's Group
The 5 Things to Know will help all employers learn control methods and strategies to implement and create an efficient and cost effective Workers Comp program.

1:45pm: Keynote - From Sports Broadcasting to Brownies, and everything in between!
Presented by Shawna Lidsky, President and Chief Brownie Advocate of Vermont Brownie Company Shawna will share her unlikely journey from sports broadcaster to brownie maker and everything in between. From being laid off from her television job to jumping into her business with both feet, she’ll cover all the highs and lows of being a specialty food producer. She’ll also talk about selling her business to Vermont Teddy Bear Company in 2015 and buying it back several years later. Shawna is back at the helm of her award-winning gourmet gift company and excited to share her brownie journey with us!

2:30pm Closing Remarks & Networking Recepetion Join us for drinks and networking immediately following. All attendees will receive 1 complimentary beverage ticket.
