2019 State of the Schools Gala & Exposition
Event Information
Description
This is the third annual State of the Schools fundraising event hosted by Laurens County School District 55. This year, Laurens District High School will host the event and every school and the district office will have a booth to showcase the wonderful things the students and teachers are doing. Student Nutrition Services will be catering the event and providing delicious hors d'oeuvre trays and drinks (non-alcoholic) for our guests. While enjoying the displays and delicious food, browse the gift baskets on display as part of a silent auction (all proceeds from each basket will go to the sponsoring school).
At 7:00 p.m., our guests will gather in the lecture theater at LDHS for the official State of the Schools presentation. See a specially prepared video, find out about the L3 Summer Basketball and literacy program (the beneficiary of the proceeds from this years event), listen to the MLK Oratorical Competition Champion and the Superintendent's Essay contest winners, and, finally, receive an update from Dr. Stephen G. Peters on the state of the district and the vision for its future.
The evening will end with the recognition of the Silent Auction gift basket winners!
