Description

Following on our successful Ready to Take Root beginner series in 2018, SMADC and University of Maryland Extension are excited to offer a Small Fruit Farm Tour + Field Day workshop covering blueberries, strawberries, and bramble production designed for both beginning and experienced growers.

Date: Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019

Time: 11:30 AM to 10 PM (See schedule below)

This is a unique opportunity to get a closer look at berry production and hear from experienced small fruit growers in Southern Maryland and then head over to the Wye Research and Education Center in Queenstown for the Annual Strawberry Twilight Tour! Learn more about successful varieties, disease and insect management, and much more on May 22nd.

Option #1: Register for the full-length tour including the Wye Strawberry Twilight. Transportation will be provided by a charter bus or vans. Bus pick-ups will be at the Loveville Produce Auction and Waldorf Park and Ride (Mattawoman Beantown Road). Dinner is included.

Option #2: Register for the Southern Maryland farm tours ONLY (Shlagel and Swann Farms). Attendees are encouraged to drive separately and meet us at each site as the charter bus is headed to Wye.
