Description

The annual UC Davis Research Expo showcases the latest tools, resources and insights to help you advance your research programs and careers. The event includes exhibits, presentations and workshops. We welcome you to enjoy the full event or attend portions that are of particular interest.


This year’s main hall presentation will include a panel discussion on how to expand your impact through news outlets, with representatives from WIRED magazine and KQED. Distinguished Professor Simon Cherry and Vice-Chair for Research in Radiology Ramsey Badawi will also present on how they transformed a bold idea into building the world’s first total-body scanner and how they see it changing the future of medicine.


You can also select from an array of morning and afternoon sessions to strengthen your skills and knowledge in specific areas related to research.


If you are involved in research, you will not want to miss this event!

10:00-10:45 – Morning Sessions

  • Option 1: Strategies and resources to meet education and outreach requirements when submitting proposals

  • Option 2: How the latest advancements in imaging tools (from the macro to nano scale) are enabling new opportunities in research

  • Option 3: Determining if, when, and how your human research project must comply with the 2018 Common Rule and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

  • Option 4: Exploring partnerships with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory & Los Alamos National Laboratory

  • 11-12 – Expanding Your Impact Through Media Outlets: A panel discussion focused on why, how and when to engage with media outlets to increase the impact of your research. Moderated by Pamela Wu, Director of News and Media Relations at UC Davis Health. Panelists include:

Nearest Parking Lot

South Entry Parking Structure, Lot VP 1 or Lot VP 2. Parking is $9, except for a few coin operated metered spots ($.25 for ten minutes).
