Description

The 2019 annual conference for the Pacific Northwest Region of the AAR and SBL with ASOR as a program unit.

Cherished Friends and Respected Colleagues, we are looking forward to meeting and learning together you at our 2019 Regional Conference being hosted by Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA from May 3 to May 5, 2019.

Our conference is an enjoyable and lively scholarly event marked by a genuine spirit of good will, professional engagement and scholarly respect. Since its inception in 1971, one of the most pleasant and prized features of our region is a friendly collegiality that is welcoming to all, while rigorously engaging the wide-ranging scholarship of our conference members across multiple perspectives. This spirit of engagement and the diversity of excellent scholarship makes our annual conference a professional treasure each year.

Our conference is marked by excellent and engaging sessions, including panels and individual presentations, Friday night Presidental Address, Saturday Business Meeting, and Saturday Banquet Dinner (registration required) and Address by Guest Panel followed by a complementary Saturday Dessert Reception for both registered conference participants and community members at large.

REGISTRATION

On this website you may register for the conference and conference meals. You may also make donations and request a partial scholarships for registration or meals, if you are student and/or under employed colleague. Please be sure to include your meal registrations for Saturday lunch and Saturday Banquet Dinner.

Travel, housing and meals are the responsibility of each attendee. Please see helpful information below.

ALL attendees -- including presenting participants and their guests, as well as student paper competition candidates -- are required to register. Undergraduate student paper candidates register without cost.

You have options to register for the conference, Saturday Lunch, Saturday Dinner Banquet, as well as make Donations that will contribute to partial scholarships to empower the participation of graduate students and our colleagues who are underemployed. Please consider giving even a modest contribution that will allow the region to generously to faciitate the participation of those unable to attend without assistance.

All charges will be calculated in U.S. Dollars. Please regard ALL deadlines with care, as fees are tiered for timely and late registration because firm catering deadlines must be honored.

Partial Scholarships for students and underemployed colleagues For those interested in the partial scholarships, DO NOT REGISTER until you have made a scholarship request inquiry to mari@pnw_aarsbl.org and received CONFIRMATION about partial scholarship availability. Partial scholarships cannot be applied once a participant has registered. Scholarships will be issued in order of requests received, once criteria have been met. Partial Scholarship Request Deadline: March 15, 2019. All Scholarships Based on Availability.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Transportation options to Ellensburg from the Seatac or Yakima Airports:

Bellair Shuttle 1-866-235-5247 or http://www.airporter.com/schedules/schedules-rates-cwa $82 Roundtrip from SEATAC to Ellensburg or $41 one-way. This is a shuttle service that runs several ime a day between Yakima Air Terminal Shuttle and SEATAC Airport with two stops in Ellensburg. Stop One: CWU Starbucks on 908th E 10th Avenue. Stop Two: LOVE'S Travel Stop -- gas station one block from the Hampton by Hilton -- 1512 US 97 (corner of HWY 97 and University Way).

What's the refund policy?

PARTIAL refunds for registration (not meals) are possible upto 10 days prior the the conference, and are subject to fees incurred for Eventbrite processing the transaction. NO refunds are possible after April 23th for registration or meals.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes. If you are unable to attend, you may tranfer your ticket to another attendee/participant by contacting the organizer and notifying of the change in writing.


Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It's defintiely the smart thing to do!
