Event description

Description

Get your wheels spinning for the 9th Annual PEAKS to CONGA bicyclists' fundraiser on Saturday, June 22, 2019. This fun, non-competitive, fully supported ride starts en masse from Cody Coffee Roasters at 7 am and ends 66 miles later in beautiful downtown Shell, WY. Ride some or the entire route ... hence the Conga line!

SAG vehicles are available along the route with snacks, water and technical assistance as needed. Recommended gear to carry with you includes a spare tube, water bottle, and sunscreen. Helmets are required! ONLY designated support vehicles are allowed along the route to reduce road congestion and increase safety. If you have family or friends interested in helping along the ride, please let us know!

The ride concludes with fun and festivities at the "Shell"ebration with food trucks, post-ride massages, live music, vendors, and yoga in the park. Dinner and a silent auction begin at 5:30 pm at the Shell Community Hall followed by live music with Emily Nenni & band from Nashville at 7:30 pm. Come kick up your heels and enjoy a hootin' good time!

We'll also have 50/50 and bike raffle ticket sales so don't forget to bring cash! Joyvagen Cycles has generously donated another great touring bicycle (SALSA JOURNEYMAN) so get your tickets early!! Plus, bring a change of clothes to throw in one of the SAG vehicles so you can be comfortable and relax after your ride.

If you want to stay for the evening's continued fun and "Shell"ebration, reserve a campsite at the Shell Campground: (307) 765-9924 (There are no other accommodations available in Shell!) Return shuttles to Cody are available but space is limited. Shuttle deadline is June 1 and ride is nonrefundable; riders are FULLY responsible for own transportation after the deadline.

About PEAKS to Conga: ALL funds raised through this event go to PEAKS (People Everywhere Are Kind & Sharing) to Conga which provides short-term, gas, grocery, and other non-medical expense assistance to local cancer patients experiencing financial hardship. Over the past several years, PEAKS to Conga has raised more than $100,000 to assist cancer patients from all over the Bighorn Basin. Help us again share that kindness to those in need!

Building upon the success from last year, we are offering RoadsideTribute Signs. Make a tribute to a friend or a loved one who is currently or who has battled cancer. Personalized signs with your design will be displayed along the ride route each year. Provide some inspiration to our riders and honor a cancer fighter. Cost is $100; contact Rene Huge by June 1st to reserve your sign; rhuge307@gmail.com.

Thanks for supporting this great cause and helping KICK CANCER TO THE CURB!

Please Note: The first 100 registrants are guaranteed a performance tee and fun swag so don't delay in signing up!
