Description

The Portland Veterans Stand Down – Oregon’s largest – honors and supports Veterans who are either experiencing or at-risk of homelessness. Women and men who have served in the military access essential supportive resources and services, employment and connections to local, state and federal support. This community-led partnership combines local nonprofits, government officials, corporations and businesses to welcome over 400 veterans annually.

At last year’s event we had:

  • 400+ veterans and their families attend and access essential resources
  • 250+ veterans meet with recruiters at our Job Fair,
  • 152 veterans access medical care,
  • 145 veterans connect with Transition Projects for the first time, and
  • 57 female-identified veterans explore services in our new Women’s Lounge.

This year we are expecting 500+ veterans and their families to attend, with a goal of over 300 meeting with recruiters at our Job Fair. At our Job Fair, we ask that employers be prepared to recruit, interview, and even hire on site. We provide clothing, resume writing assistance, and job application assistance for veterans at the event and encourage them to take action to apply for jobs on site.

The registration fee for this event includes 1 table in our Job Fair and 2 free Elephant's Deli sack lunches for your team. We hope you can join us for this impactful event!


Please note that if you would like to reserve multiple tables at this event for various companies/organizations, you will need to register each company/organization individually. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door, you must register before Wednesday, September 4th to take part in the Job Fair.


FAQs


Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, once you register, we will have your company name on our RSVP list and will reserve a table for you at the Job Fair. Please just have your team present your company name upon arrival. If you need additional lunches, these will need to be purchased.

Can I update my registration information? What if I have additional questions?

Do I have to pay via Eventbrite?

No, if you want to avoid paying processing fees, please choose the "Pay by Check" option upon check out. Checks can be made out to Transition Projects and mailed to our office at 665 NW Hoyt St to the Attention of our Development Department. All checks must be received no later than 7 days before the event.
