We have an exciting opportunity for you and your family to represent Fiserv and support the military community by participating in the New York City Veterans Day Parade on November 11th as part of Fiserv Salutes!

This event is open to all associates, regardless of military-affiliation, along with their family and friends (RSVP required). The purpose of the parade is to honor the service of our veterans and salute our currently serving military.Our 5 Grand Marshals for the 2019 NYC Veterans Day Centennial Parade each represents an era of service from WWII to Present Day

  • Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Recipient - USMC - WWII
  • Hiroshi "Hershey" Miyamura - Medal of Honor Recipient - U.S. Army - Korea
  • Senator Bob Kerrey - Medal of Honor Recipient - U.S.Navy - Vietnam
  • Eddie S. Ray - Navy Cross Recipient - USMC - Desert Storm
  • Zach Iscol - USMC - Post 9/11

The featured service branch for this year’s parade is the U.S. Marine Cops. This year’s Parade also holds special significance, as it honors the centennial of the Veterans Day (formerly Arminstice Day; 1919-2019), which ended when the guns of World War I fell silente as the Armistice ending the fighting took hold. This year marks the 100th observation of this day.

FAQs:

  • The parade will be held on Monday, November 11th from 11:15-3:00 (please note that Veterans Day is a federal and Fiserv holiday). The parade begins at Madison Square Park and runs up 5th Avenue to 53rd Street/Rockefeller Plaza
  • Volunteers with Fiserv will meet up at 10:30 a.m. at or near Broadway and 22nd Street (*tentative - more details about exact meeting location will follow)
  • Attire is business casual with navy/khaki colors preferred (Service Dress uniform is appropriate for current active duty, and current members of the Guard and Reserve)
  • Family members are more than welcome to participate with our team – we encourage it!
  • Please keep in mind that there is no opportunity to sit during the parade
  • We will be walking in the parade, so please be sure to wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather and anticipate that we will be waiting together at the meeting location for 2-4 hours prior to marching as is customary with this parade
  • In case of inclement weather, we will communicate to all registered participants via this site
  • Participation is strictly voluntary, there will be no travel reimbursement or overtime pay
  • By agreeing to participate, you consent to have your photo and your guests photo taken and potentially utilized for promotion or advertising with Fiserv
