Event description

Description

National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) will once again participate in this year’s NYC Pride March on Sunday June 30th. Our organization was the lead player in the designation of Stonewall National Monument, the first national park unit solely dedicated to LGBTQ history (Learn more about that here: www.npca.org/stonewall).

This year is also special for both Stonewall and the NPCA, as 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, a watershed moment in the founding of the modern LGBTQIA+ rights movement, is World Pride in New York City, celebrating a half-century of LGBTQIA+ liberation, and is the 100th anniversary of the NPCA, highlighting a century of the organization working to protect places of unparalleled natural wonder, historical significance and cultural value.

We will be lining up in Midtown at 3:00 pm; however, you must stop by our 36th Street office earlier in the day from 12:00pm to 2:00pm to pick up mandatory wristbands, tee-shirts, marching signs, and flags. Our NPCA office is located at 256 W 36th St, 12th floor. Due to the limited number of wristbands, we can only provide one wristband per person, and you can only claim a wristband for yourself. THE OFFICE WILL CLOSE AT 2:00 PM, so that we can make our way to the March lineup location.

We hope you can join us!

For any questions regarding the march, please email Matt at mmorowitz@npca.org.
