Description

The 2019 Northern Virginia Tobacco Control Summit brings together key stakeholders from government agencies, non-profits, and advocacy groups to discuss existing problems in our area and strategies for solutions in tobacco control. The Northern Virginia region consists of Alexandria City, Arlington County, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and Prince William County.

We would love to have your participation at this year's Summit on November 19, 2019 at the Stacy C. Sherwood Center in Fairfax, VA. Key tobacco control topics covered will include:

  • Prevention: How protective factors mitigate risk factors
  • Cessation: Vaping cessation among youth and young adults
  • Access: Youth and young adult access to tobacco products online (including e-cigarettes) and policies/regulations for online tobacco sales
  • Policy: Moving policy forward with the voice of our youth + the impact of flavorings
  • Media: Building and launching hard-hitting media campaigns that resonate with target populations
  • Tobacco in schools and higher education: policies, prevention resources, cessation resources, and intervention/enforcement procedures
