Description

On December 10, 2019, we will celebrate our 10-year Anniversary with our first ever fundraising event to commemorate a decade of grassroots change making in the city of Newark and to propel us into an exciting new growth phase. Our program costs $1,000 per child, per year. This includes two semesters of instruction plus summer camp, all at no cost to families. Our goal is to raise $300,000 so that we can serve 300 additional students in 2020. We invite you to join us in this celebratory moment as a Sponsor. Your donation in any amount over $250 is tax deductible. Should you be unable to attend our gala, kindly consider making a donation to sponsor a child for the 2020 year.

IMPORTANT: If you wish to avoid Event Brite processing fees you may instead mail your tax exempt contribution to "The Newark Chess Club" PO Box 7399, Newark NJ 07107 by December 1, 2019 (please include your return address for ticket and email address for receipt confirmation).

INDIVIDUAL TICKETS ARE $300 PER PERSON. Early Bird tickets are limited and must be purchased on Event Brite.

COMPANY SPONSORSHIP LEVELS:

King Sponsor: $10,000

  • 10 VIP tickets, table for 10 with premium seating for the program, name listed prominently in all event materials as lead sponsor, and special recognition during program at Gala.

Queens Sponsor: $5,000

  • 5 VIP tickets, premium seating for the program, name listed in all event materials, and special recognition during program at Gala.

Rook Sponsor: $2,500

  • 5 event tickets, priority seating for the program, recognition on event materials and at Gala.

Knight Sponsor (VIP): $1,000

  • 1 VIP ticket (parking and exclusive cocktail hour), priority seating for the program recognition on event materials and at Gala.

Bishop Sponsor: $500

  • 1 event ticket, priority seating for the program, recognition on event materials.

FAQs

Can I pay at the door?

In person payments at the event ($300pp) will be accepted on a "limited basis" however we can NOT guarantee your reservation without receipt of payment before the event so we strongly encourage advance payments to ensure seating is available.

What is the appropriate attire for this event?

Business suits and festive cocktail wear. This is a black tie affair.

What activities will take place at the Gala?

The 1st annual Gala will include a 6:30pm reception followed by dinner and presentations where The Newark Chess Club will highlight the outcomes of our 2019 programs, recognize special guests, and introduce the plan for the 2020 year. We will also host a silent auction including a variety of unique items (auction payments will be accepted onsite or post event)

Are there ID requirements to enter the event?

You will need to show ID if you have verbally reserved a ticket and you would like to pay "at-the-door" (note: we can not guarantee at-the-door payment will be an option). Please also be prepared to abide by any additional venue security measures required on the day of the event.

How can I provide support if I am unable to attend this event?

Tax exempt donations (in any amount) are appreciated and accepted throughout the year and should be payable to "The Newark Chess Club" PO Box 7399, Newark NJ 07107

Can I specify which of your programs my donation will support?

Yes. Gala donations will be applied to our 2020 non-profit programs which include our annual chess tournaments. Donors may choose to support one or more of these programs or provide general operational support.

Are there any complimentary or discounted tickets available for students, non-profits, etc?

Not at this time however please ask your company school to contact us regarding sponsorship opportunities described above.

Will you need any volunteers at this event?

Not at this time however please contact us regarding how you may volunteer to support any of our non-profit events throughout the year.

Will vendors be allowed to promote products at this event?

Products will not be sold at this event however if you wish to donate products for our gift bags or auction vendors may submit a request letter to newarkchessclub@gmail.com including a description of the product(s), $ value and available quantity.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Ample paid parking is available at the Newark Museum. VIP ticket holders have complimentary parking.
