PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE 2019 MARYLAND COUNCIL FOR EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE ON SATURDAY, MARCH 30TH!



#MDCEC2019 Conference registration check-in will begin at 8:30am, and the conference will begin promptly at 9:00am. Throughout the day, we'll have light snacks available, and will also be providing lunch to all registered attendees at this year's conference.

Tentative conference agenda:

  • 8:30-8:55am = registration check-in, explore vendor tables
  • 9:00-9:50am = opening remarks and keynote speaker
  • 10:00am-12:50pm = conference presentation sessions
  • 12:50pm-1:10pm = poster presentations, explore vendor tables
  • 1:10pm-2:00pm = lunch, recognition of annual MD CEC state and chapter awards, closing remarks
  • (2-3pm = post-conference: MD CEC board meeting; all MD CEC members welcome to attend)



We are excited to announce our #MDCEC2019 keynote speaker will be Mr. LaRon Martin!

LaRon Martin

LaRon Martin is a seasoned, enthusiastic, and passionate educator that is dedicated to improving student growth by increasing teacher capacity. He brings over 15 years of experience in education with a background as a school leader in public, charter, and private school settings serving grades PK3- 12, with a specialty for supporting students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. LaRon currently serves as the Principal of The Children’s Guild Baltimore Campus where he is responsible for the academic and social-emotional growth for students and professional development of his staff. His career includes experience as a classroom teacher, child find specialist, an instructional coach, assistant principal, school turnaround special education coordinator, as well as district office administrator. Martin is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a Master’s of Science in special education and as well as in School Administration and Supervision with a focus on Instructional Technology. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Bowling Green State University.
