2019 Local Progress NY State Convening
Event Information
About this Event
This year's New York Convening promises to be our best yet! We are planning to bring experts on state and local policy together to discuss Clean Water, Immigrant Protections, Rent Stabilization Expansion, Voter Reforms, Fair Elections, and much much more!
New this year -- LPNY members have the opportunity to attend a training by the Progressive Governance Academy, a joint venture of Local Progress, Re-Power (formerly Wellstone Action), and the State Innovation Exchange (SIX) on Friday, November 15 from 9:00 AM - 5:00PM. Interested members should check the appropriate box when registering for the State Convening, and a Local Progress NY staff member will reach out to with more information. Members must attend the entire day, and space is limited (only 45 spots), so make sure to sign up early!
The Local Progress Organizing Committee has created a new $60.00 non-refundable registration fee to help defray costs of the convening.
Many local jurisdictions have an education fund that can reimburse members for attending conferences and other opportunities for professional development. These funds are normally accessed by speaking with the presiding officer of the body you serve. Members should also check in with colleagues on the body they serve to see if they are also applying for this reimbursement.
This fee is not meant to be a barrier to attending the 2019 Local Progress State Convening. Please email convening@localprogress.org to request a scholarship.
