Event description

Description

In honor of Robert F. Kennedy’s legacy, and in partnership with Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, Schools That Can annually presents the Robert F. Kennedy Urban Education Awards to a school leader, teacher, and student from urban schools. Awardees embody Kennedy’s characteristics by speaking truth to power and acting as agents of positive change.

The 6th Annual RFK Urban Education Awards will be presented during a special Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, May 1 at the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, NJ as a part of the 2019 Schools That Can Forum. RFK Awards will be presented to a student, teacher, and school leader who have worked in their own way to change systems and influence history. The Luncheon will also feature our Leaders That Can Awards, annually presented to local business and community leaders. This year, we will honor Prudential and Chancellor Nancy Cantor at Rutgers University - Newark.
