2019 MAG Interactive Map Viewer Training

Learn how to access demographic and employment data for your community, the region, and throughout the state of Arizona.

What will you learn?
In a live computer lab setting, attendees will use the MAG map viewers (focusing on the Arizona Demographic viewer and the Arizona Employment viewer) found at maps.azmag.gov to conduct searches for demographic and employment data for each community, the region, and throughout the state of Arizona. Special emphasis will be placed on understanding search terminology, and downloading data into usable formats.

Who should attend?
Anyone who conducts planning and community assessment. This includes those who work in areas of economic development, planning and development, public safety, public health, real estate, education, employment services, library services, human services, policymaking, marketing, and more.

Capacity

Seating is limited to 24 attendees per session. Latecomers may forfeit their seats to walk-ins. Sessions with less than 15 registrants 48 hours prior to the workshop will be canceled.

Waitlist
If a session is 'sold out' a Waitlist will be available. In the event a seat opens up prior to the day of the class, those on the Waitlist will be emailed and given an opportunity to register.

Cancellations
If you find that you will not be able to make the class, the courtesy of your cancellation would be appreciated. Sessions with less than 15 registrants 48 hours prior to the workshop will be canceled.

Walk-ins
Walk-ins are welcome on a stand-by basis, and will only be seated if there is space available after the start of the class. Call ahead to be sure the class has not been canceled: 602-254-6300.

Computers Will Be Provided
Class is conducted in the computer lab of ARIZONA@WORK Phoenix (formerly known as the Phoenix Workforce Connection).

No food or drinks
Per ARIZONA@WORK policy, no food or drinks are allowed in the computer lab, except bottled water.

Getting There, Parking Validation
Only parking stubs from our underground parking at this location (accessible from 1st Avenue, which is a southbound one-way street) will be validated at the training.

We are also easily accessible by bus and light rail.
