Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering at Holt Adoptee Camp! We are so excited to provide a space for adult Adoptees to serve and be a part of this amazing program.

Holt Camp is a a fun place. A safe place. A place for ALL Adoptees.

The dates for volunteers at each of our camps:

Oregon - Camp Angelos, Corbett, OR:

  • July 13th-15th

Wisconsin - Conference Point Center, Lake Geneva, WI:

  • July 22nd-24th

Nebraska - Camp Carol Joy Holling, Ashland, NE:

  • July 29th-31st

New Jersey - Camp Tecumseh, Pittstown, NJ:

  • August 5th-7th

All volunteers must be Adoptees, 18 years of age or older at the time of service, pass a routine state background check, and able to provide their own transportation to the site. Once your application is received and reviewed one of our staff will be in contact with you for next steps!

This past summer volunteers served through four main duties which included:

Cleaning, Activity Set-up

Duties included, assisting in the set-up and break-down of work areas, moving equipment, helping keep craft items safe/secure and keeping the area clean and organized.

One-on-one Camp Buddy

Camp Buddy Volunteers were assigned to one young camper and were responsible for the care and support of that camper throughout daily activities.

Shadow a Counselor

Shadow Volunteers supported counselor staff mainly in times of transitioning campers from one activity to the next. Duties included, assisting in the set-up and break-down of work areas, communicating needs, area maintenance and crowd control.

Way-finding

Wayfinding Volunteers were stationed in various locations around the campsite and provided general assistance whenever and wherever needed. Tasks included communicating needs, area maintenance and crowd control.

FAQs

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to and from site. Parking will be available. Remember, this is a campsite and the vehicle will mostly likely have to drive on dirt roads.

Will meals will be provided?

We can guarantee one meal per 4-5 hour shift.

What can I bring into the event?

During the summer months please plan for sunny, high temperatures, and varying weather conditions. We suggest bringing a water bottle, sun-protection, and a change of clothes.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, plans change and we respect your time. Please be proactive in communicating any major changes and contact us as soon as possible.
