2019 Health Literacy Coalition Training: Communicating to Connect (5/14)

Communicating to Connect (10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.): This training program is based on components of the American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation’s Health Literacy Train-the-Trainer program, which focuses on providing an overview of health literacy and its relationship to health outcomes, as well as enhancing patient interaction and communication through plain language and methods such as teachback. This content has previously been offered as the first section of a full-day provider training.
Target audience: anyone who is responsible for communicating health information to clients/patients and who is interested in learning the basic principles of health literacy and oral communication, or those who are interested in a refresher course. Potential attendee roles may include clinicians, administrators, and educators.
Join the Pennsylvania Health Literacy Coalition for a set of trainings focused on health literacy topics. In addition to the training described above, the following training sessions are available. Participants may selectively attend the training(s) of interest to them.
