Description

Please join us and the Community Outreach Committee in to Volunteer for Day of Service at the Historic Greenwood Cemetery. The facility request volunteers to help keep the grounds from time to time the SGWS MO has answered the call.

Greenwood Cemetery was organized in 1874 to serve the needs of the growing black population of post-civil war St. Louis and St. Louis County. It was the first commercial non-sectarian cemetery for African Americans in the St Louis metropolitan area. Greenwood Cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 26, 2004.

SGWS Employees, Family Members and Friends of all ages are welcome to volunteer. You can sign-up around the office or here on line.


PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN SAFETY GOGGLES AND GLOVES. - ANY LAWN CARE OR POWER EQUIPMENT THAT YOU CAN VOLUNTEER TO USE IS WELCOME!

Lunch and Refershments will be provided by SGWS MO - Cheers to Diversity.
