Please join us at the US EPA's 2019 Green Chemistry Challenge Award Ceremony and Reception to congratulate the winners of this prestigious national award.

The Green Chemistry Challenge Awards promote the environmental and economic benefits of developing and using novel green chemistry. The winners are recognized for incorporating the principles of green chemistry into the design, manufacture and use of chemical technologies.

NOTE: All visitors will be required to show one (1) form of identification (a government-issued photo ID-driver's license, passport, green card, etc.). Please arrive early to clear security.

When should award recipients arrive?

Award recipients should be in the auditorium by 4:00 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m.

What is the timing for the reception?

A reception for winners and guests will immediately follow the ceremony.

What is the dress code?

Business or comparable attire is appropriate.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Metro: The closest Metrorail stop is Federal Triangle (302 12th St., NW), located on the orange, blue, and silver lines. From the station, walk approximately one block South on 12th St. NW. Then turn right on Constitution Ave. NW and proceed approximately 1 block West until you reach your destination on the right. Rail: Take Amtrak to Washington’s Union Station (202-371-9441). Note that Amtrak requires reservations for all trains either in advance or at the station. Detailed information is available from Amtrak: 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245), or www.amtrak.com. From there, take either a taxicab or Metro (see above).

Air: Three airports serve the Washington, DC area: Ronald Reagan National (DCA), Washington Dulles International (IAD), and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI). Ronald Reagan National is the closest airport to downtown Washington, DC (about 5 miles from the NAS). Dulles (25 miles) and BWI (34 miles) are farther away. Taxicabs and shuttle buses serve all three airports. Metrorail is available from Reagan National. Buses from Dulles and BWI connect to Metrorail stations. BWI’s Rail Station also provides Amtrak and Maryland Commuter train service (MARC) to Washington’s Union Station.
