AM: PARALLEL PARABLES & MORE
AM: PARALLEL PARABLES & MORE Taught directly from the Bible Starts September 10, for 12 weeks Have you ever wondered why Jesus spoke in parables or why there are variations between different accounts of Jesus’ messages and descriptions of his ministry? Do you ever find yourself wondering how to answer questions about these seeming inconsistencies in a way that points to God’s intentional presentation of truth? In this study we’ll look at selected parables from the Bible to see the harmony in God’s message from the beginning and throughout the Scriptures. We’ll examine nuances from passages that not only provide answers to these questions but also allow us to hear from God in ways that impact us personally for life in our world today. And more than that, we’ll wrap up the semester by looking at the parallel passages that describe Jesus’ arrival on earth in the various accounts of the nativity to give us a fresh perspective and help us keep Jesus at the center of our holiday celebrations. After all, wise women still seek him! (No materials needed for purchase…ladies should bring their own Bible.). Homework: No homework Class format: Teaching from the Bible, interactive class discussion, small groups and prayer Led by: Jen Gunning 610.290.6411 Pam Marshall 215.513.7384
