The Eastern Great Lakes Chapter of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging has created a
multi‐faceted educational weekend program that combines medical imaging and therapy and also highlights evolving strategies in our field.

We will begin the first day of our meeting with a Leadership Update, followed by several lectures devoted to advances in cardiac imaging including both SPECT and PET as well as lectures on myocardial blood flow, metabolism, amyloidosis and sarcoidosis among other treats. We will have a panel discussion over lunch about the American College of Nuclear Medicine, the American Medical Association and the SNMMI including what these organizations are doing on our behalf and how you can get involved should you so wish. After lunch, we will listen to presentations from a selection of the top abstracts submitted to our meeting. Finally, in the afternoon, we will turn our attention to somatostatin receptor imaging and therapy including PET/CT and provide an update on Lutathera therapy and what you need to consider when starting your program, as well as various issues that may come up when preparing your department for theranostics. We will discuss the growing use of MRI and consideration of cumulative radiation exposure and we will review MRI safety. We will conclude the day with a discussion of dementia and how molecular imaging can help clarify the differential diagnosis, should the question be on your mind.

The second day of our meeting will be devoted to nuclear oncology and will include talks on advanced in prostate cancer imaging, radionuclide therapy, Y-90 radioembolization and radioactive iodine therapy. We will conclude with the business meeting for our chapter.

We have an exciting set of speakers including Vasken Dilsizian, MD, President of the SNMMI from the University of Maryland School of Medicine; Piotr Slomka, PhD, from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Gary Dillehay, MD, FACNM, FACR, from Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Frederick Grant, MD, from Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

We hope you will enjoy this program and we look forward to seeing you soon!
