Early Childhood Conference for early childhood professionals.


Our breakouts are age specific. Please choose the age group you work with the most. Each ticket includes the keynote and an afternoon breakout session. The session you choose will be the session you attend. No exceptions. **If you register more than 1 person please email Trisha at luchildcare@yahoo.com with the name of the person for each ticket**

Registration is from 7:30-8:00am. The keynote will start promptly at 8am. The conference will be held at Minnesota State University Moorhead in the student union. You will receive 5 credit hours for this conference.



Keynote

Do you want to have more fun in your classroom?


Come sing, dance, play, and remember how joyful it can be to teach young children because we never have to grow up! You’ll learn how to apply brain research in your classrooms in ways that are simple, easy, and meaningful! Dr. Jean will also spend time on transition tips and tricks. We all know that those “in between” times are when things tend to get out of control. You will learn positive ways to focus children’s attention with songs, finger plays, props, and games.


You’ll be able to implement things you learn right away. Each participant will receive a packet with songs and finger plays.



Infant/Toddler

From Timid to Tenacious – Working with Infant and Toddler Temperament TraitsSome infants and toddlers are very easygoing while others are extremely feisty, emotions, or slow-to-warm. Each unique infant/toddler temperament will require individualized responses from adults in order to find success. During this training you will; explore 9 temperament traits and identify ways to adapt care and provide a “good fit”, reduce stress, and increase positive outcomes while caring for infants and toddlers.



Preschool

Learn how to positively change behavior by knowing what to say and do when challenging behaviors occur and when they are not occurring. Get the strategies that teach children healthy behaviors by replacing the challenging behaviors.



School Age

Make the most of your school age program by learning how to help it run smoothly.Topics covered in this training include; tricky behaviors, gym games, huddle time, junior leader program, and transitions.



Training in Somali

Child care providers have a critical role in the support and promotion of social and emotional development of children. This session will discuss the development process, concepts within, assessments of development, and adjustments you can make in the day to day practice of care as well as your day to day communication with parents and support systems. Examples and stories will be shared to help participants with scenarios that they may face. **This training will be spoken in Somali**
