FAQ

What time should I arrive?

Advocates are encouraged to arrive between 8:15am and 8:30am for registration. The event will begin promptly at 8:45am.

May I attend for just a few hours?

Given limited number of registrants allowed, we ask that advocates who attend commit to staying for the entire day. You won't want to miss the final session with a special keynote presentation. To discuss any special circumstances, please contact Lindsey O'Hare at lohare@dallascasa.org.

What are my parking options for the event?

Irving Bible Church provides free, on-site parking. A parking map will be provided before the event, but please use the lots off of Kinwest Parkway or Regent Drive.

What can I bring into the event?

You are encouraged to wear your CASA ID/name badge and bring a sweater or jacket. Outside food and drink is permitted but breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided throughout the day. You are encouarged to bring a notebook or other materials to take notes, as paper copies of the PowerPoints will not be provided.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You can bring your printed ticket or access the barcode on your mobile device at registration. If neither option is feasible, you'll still be able to sign in as long as you're pre-registered for the Summit on EventBrite (this website).

Will I automatically get credit for eight continuing education hours by attending?

No, advocates must self-report their attendance at the Summit in Optima under the "Training Tab." Please seek guidance from your supervisor on reporting training hours in Optima if needed.

What type of food and drinks will be provided?

We will provide a light breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Coffee and water will be available throughout the day. Lunch options are available for those who indicate gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, or nut-free diet during registration. You are welcome to bring any food or snacks to meet your dietary needs or restrictions.

May I bring my spouse, partner, friend, child, or coworker to the event if they're interested in learning about CASA?

No. The Advocate Summit is only open to current Dallas CASA Advocates and staff. However, we'd love for you to bring your spouse, partner, friend, adult child, or coworker to an information session at Dallas CASA. The schedule of upcoming information sessions is available on the Dallas CASA website.

Who should I contact with questions?

Please direct questions about the Advocate Summit to Lindsey O'Hare, Dallas CASA Continuing Education Coordinator, at lohare@dallascasa.org or 469-547-9466.
