About the Forum

Initiated in 2017, The Columbia China and the World Forum (previous U.S. - China Relations Conference) aims to establish a platform for apolitical, comprehensive and constructive conversations between China, the U.S., and the world among official and non-official actors. We invite distinguished speakers from different sectors in the fields of international affairs to openly discuss, debate, and share their insights and visions on the future of this most important bilateral relations, and how it will shape a common destiny for the world.

The 2019 Columbia China and the World Forum is organized by a student committee from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs(SIPA). The 2019 Forum will feature discussion of the following themes:

1. The US-China Relations and the Future International Order

2. Global Trade, Finance and U.S. - China Economic Relations

3. Disruptive Trends in Global Financial Technology

4. Climate Change and the Energy Transition

5. China-Latin America Engagement

6. Indo-Pacific Security Framework

7. Women Leadership and Entrepreneurship

8. SupChina, Sinica Podcast: US-China Tech Competition

Non-VIP ticket: Columbia students use promocode STUDENT for $10 discount, faculty and alumni use promocode ALUMNI for $5 discount

VIP ticket: Columbia students use promocode VIPSTUDENT for $100, faculty and alumni use promocode VIPALUMNI for $150 (Everything access including exclusive networking opportunities and evening reception with guest speakers)

FREE ticket: Submit a piece of commentary/analytical essay (300-500 words) on the eight policy topics listed above to ms5695@columbia.edu, with your name, affiliation, and contact. If your work is of high quality, we will give out free non-VIP ticket! Qualified submissions will have the chance to be published on SIPA Morningside Post.
