Event description

Description

Immerse yourself in a full day of enlightening and energizing presentations by eight renowned experts in the fields of landscape design, with a focus on pollinators, and native plants!

Now celebrating our fifth year, the goal of the Cleveland Pollinator and Native Plant Symposium is to educate and inspire homeowners, garden clubs, landscape architects and designers, horticulturists, botanists, naturalists, educators, conservationists and anyone eager to learn about creating pollinator and wildlife habitats using native plants and trees to promote biodiversity and ecological resilience.

  • Join in the conversation with eight national and regional experts

  • Explore the importance of restoring our increasingly fragmented and disappearing native habitats beginning in our own backyards—whether large or small.

  • Increase your knowledge of pollinators, native plants and planting designs that are robust and form ecologically valuable alliances.

  • The all-day symposium includes a light breakfast, lunch and refreshments.

Our focus is on shifting traditional horticultural practices to creating landscapes for beauty, biodiversity, and a sustainable ecosystem. The program encourages participants to connect, exchange ideas and share information with each other and the speakers.

Regional field trips are a new addition to our Symposium in 2019!

As part of your attendance fee, you can select from five FREE guided field trips on Saturday morning, September 21, and one private garden experience.

  • TRIP 1: Mentor Marsh

  • TRIP 2: Newell Preserve

  • TRIP 3: Acacia Reservation

  • TRIP 4: Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve

  • TRIP 5: Myrtle S. Holden Wildflower Garden Arlene and Arthur S. Holden Jr. Butterfly Garden
