Event description

Description

Join MarineLab's biologist/instructors in a week long exploration of the marine communities in the Upper Keys. Days are spent aboard our boats, snorkeling the seagrasses, mangroves, and coral reefs protected by the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, Everglades National Park and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. All workshops are content oriented and are designed for the middle and high school science teacher. Recharge your batteries, get excited about using marine science in YOUR curriculum, and get continuing education points at the same time!

We've taken our standard MarineLab curriculum and added citizen science and service learning opportunities! This workshop also includes some of our newer program components such as Marine Debris and the Florida Bay Survey. If you've already been to the Intro course, this is an excellent second year program.

COST: $450. Workshop fees are all-inclusive except for transportation to MarineLab: meals, accommodations, field trips, evening activities, and snorkel gear are all provided. Please note: We utilize all the workshop time to focus on educational content. If you are interested in doing some tourism activities while you're in the Keys, please plan on doing so before or after the workshop. Staying with us for an extra night is an option, although we cannot accommodate early arrivals.

Enroll by registering and paying a $100 deposit. Balance will be collected upon arrival.
