Event Details

There are so many ways to give back to your community in 2019.  Visit over 100 nonprofit organizations from all over the city to learn how you can lend a hand. Whether your passion is the environment, the arts, or social justice, there’s a volunteer opportunity waiting for you.

Come prepared to participate in more speed volunteering opportunities than ever before!  Check out these special spots at the Expo where you can: 

  • Bring a canned good to donate to the Friendship Center
  • Turn plastic bags into sleeping mats for those experiencing homelessness with New Life for Old Bags
  • Create cards to uplift kids spirits through Cardz for Kidz

If you represent a nonprofit or community-based organization and would like to apply for exhibitor space at this event, please fill out this form by December 10.

5 things you want to know about the Chicago Volunteer Expo

  1. Come ready to chat it up! – You have the opportunity to meet over 100 nonprofit organizations from all across the city and learn how you can lend your skills and passion to support their missions.

 

  1. Getting to the ExpoPlan your route to the Nature Museum at 2430 N. Cannon Dr. to take public transportation, ride share or Divvy Bikes as this is a very popular event! There is very limited free street parking along Cannon Drive and a Chicago Park District parking lot at 2431 N. Cannon Dr. with a $20 flat fee.

 

  1. Set your sights – Most attendees spend about 2 hours meeting organizations and still do not hit every table but don’t worry; you can always visit them at ChicagoVolunteerExpo.com. Take a peek at the exhibitors tab and you create your “must meet” list.

 

  1. Embrace the adventure – Organizations are not grouped by area of focus because you might discover the perfect opportunity you never would have even considered before. You will get a map when you arrive to help guide your journey.

 

  1. Explore the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum – Expo attendees also receive free admission to the Museum so take a moment to enjoy the Judy Istock Butterfly Haven and other exciting exhibits.
