Event description

Description

Join the International Churchill Society for the 2019 Academic Dinner, held in conjunction with the meeting of the American Political Science Association (APSA), at the Army and Navy Club, Washington, D.C.

Our guest of honor is Andrew Roberts, the author of Churchill: Walking with Destiny, an 1100-page single-volume biography published last year.

With generous assistance from the Center for Freedom and Western Civilization at Colgate University, the International Churchill Society is proud to welcome Andrew Roberts, who will speak after dinner on “Teaching Churchill to the Younger Generation,” advising us how to explain and defend the statesmanship and heroic greatness of Winston Churchill to students and children who have no personal memory of the Second World War, and who tend to consign the British Empire to the world’s embarrassing imperial past.

Copies of Andrew Robert's book, Churchill: Walking with Destiny, will be available for purchase and autograph. Free copies will be awarded to three people under 30 years of age who are interested in reading about Churchill.

Dinner Time: 6.30 p.m., reception with a cash bar; 7.30 p.m., dinner
Dinner Location: Army and Navy Club, 901 Seventeenth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20006, Metro Farragut West or Farragut North
