NOLAVATE Black presents the ultimate Black Tech meetup Essence Festival Week!

Black Tech NOLA brings Black techies together for work and play during the largest Black music festival in the country. Come a few days before Essence Festival test and demo products from national brands, meet tech executives and thought leaders, learn about resources for your business, network at our after hours events, visit our pop up innovation lab, watch local techies compete at our pitch competition and get the scoop on how to take your career to the next level.

Monday July 1st

NOLA Tech 30 - Exclusive VIP Honoree Mixer recognizing 30 Black professionals changing the game in tech in the Greater New Orleans Area. Early bird registrations will get a special all access pass to the premier event celebrating top leaders in tech. Limited tickets available. Presented by Microsoft.

Tuesday July 2nd

Investing In Equity (Morning)

Funders and investors will have an open and honest conversation about what it will take to close the gap in technology.  Main stage will include talks and a panel on race, diversity, inclusion and equity and the complexities of funding, hiring and getting access to resources.

Building the Tech Pipeline (Afternoon)

As the fastest growing tech hub in the country, we must ensure that we have a strong talent pipeline to fill the incoming jobs, while also investing in startups as job creators. Speakers will examine the importance of early childhood to adult education technology programs.

Wednesday July 3rd

Our Voice, Our Mic (Morning)

Segment will spotlight founders making waves in media. Participants will hear from content creators and tech creatives of color who use innovative platforms to disrupt media.

Power of Tech (Evening)

Panelists will discuss the impact technology plays in activism and grassroots efforts.   Advocates from across the country will share strategies for engagement, advocacy and empowering disenfranchised communities.

NOLAVATE Pitch Competition (TBD)

Early stage local tech startups will compete for a chance to win seed funds for their big idea.  Stay tuned for more information.
