The Auburn Interfaith Food Closet is holding a drive to benefit low income non-homeless families. Homeless families should contact the Auburn Salvation Army regarding their Thanksgiving dinner by calling 530-889-3990.

Each person signed up will be notified via email or telephone on Sunday, November 24th to let them know whether or not a turkey or ham has been reserved for them. If you do not receive an email or phone call by 5 pm, call 530-885-1921.

All turkeys and hams will be distributed at the Auburn Grocery Outlet parking lot on Monday, November 25th between 9 am and 5 pm.

We do not have two in the family but we are having company for Thanksgiving. Can that count as our two?

No. Unfortunately, we do not know how many turkeys will be donated. Our first priority is to get the turkeys to families who do have two people living in the household.

Other relatives live in the household with me (e.g., parents, grown children). Do they qualify?

I rent a room in someone's household. Would I qualify?

No unless you are registered as a separate familiy with the Food Closet. If you are, then yes. Otherwise, sign up for the Thanksgiving dinner with the Auburn Salvation Army. 530-889-3990.

I am homeless. Would I qualify?

No. Sign up for the Thanksgiving dinner with the Auburn Salvation Army. 530-889-3990.

What if I don't have access to the Internet or do not have an email address?

Come to the Auburn Interfaith Food Closet and we will help you sign up. Be sure to provide a current telephone number where you can be reached.

Do I have to show proof of income in order to sign up?

Whose name should I show on the registration?

The person who will show up at Auburn Grocery Outlet on Monday, November 25th. If someone else comes in their place, a written authorization from the person who is registered will be required. The authorization should include the date, the name of the person who is signed up, the name of the person doing the pickup, and the signature of the person registered.

What will I need to present in order to pickup?

Your identification. It would be helpful to bring a copy of your registration but it is not required.
