Keynote speakers include Mayor Jack Young, MICA President Samuel Hoi, Maryland Senator Susan Lee, and UMD Cardiologist Dr. Van-Khue Ton. There will be spirited dance performances by Polynesian, Thai, Viet Nam, Filipino, and Korean groups. There will be traditional drum performances from Hawaii, Japan, and in the spirit of our theme of unity, an African Master drummer will join in a performance. Baltimore’s own Riley Hawkins will display his group’s martial arts along with other groups.
The embassies of Japan and Viet Nam will bring cultural objects, including Sake tasting, and a Maglev model train display. The Indonesian Embassy will present Saman dance, also known as the “Dance of the thousand hands”.
