REGISTER NOW for Utah Foundation’s 2019 Annual Luncheon at the Little America on Tuesday, May 21.

Guest Speaker

Utah Foundation is pleased to announce that renowned Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam will serve as keynote speaker at the 2019 Annual Luncheon. Professor Putnam is the author of the landmark work on social capital, Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community. He is also the author of the recent best-seller, Our Kids: The American Dream in Crisis. Join us to hear one of America's foremost public scholars share the insights he has gained from decades taking the pulse of our nation.

Professor Putnam is the Peter and Isabel Malkin Professor of Public Policy at Harvard University. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy, and past president of the American Political Science Association. In 2006, Putnam received the Skytte Prize, the world's highest accolade for a political scientist, and in 2012, he received the National Humanities Medal, the nation’s highest honor for contributions to the humanities. Raised in a small town in the Midwest and educated at Swarthmore, Oxford, and Yale, he has served as Dean of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. The London Sunday Times has called him “the most influential academic in the world today.”

Honoree

Utah Foundation is also pleased to present its Civic Cornerstone Award for 2019 to Rio Tinto -- a founding and continual Utah Foundation member (through Kennecott Utah Copper).
