This year's theme: Becoming a More Valuable Resource

All organizations, public and private, realize that projects and programs need to deliver changes that improve their operational capabilities. These changes enable customers/constituents to receive products and services faster and smoother, while requiring less time and effort from the organization’s staff. Therefore, the quicker these improvements can be made, the quicker the benefits will be realized – and the happier everyone will be.

Everyone, that is, except for the project teams who are responsible for delivering those improvements. They find themselves in the storm, being pushed and pulled by sponsors, supervisors, end-users, customers… Often each group has differing goals and expectations, and it is their job to find the tradeoffs to bring the best benefit for the smallest cost. And like a duck, they need to appear calm and focused to those observing while scrambling like mad to make it happen.

To help prepare attendees for those challenges, ABADD 2019 will focus on four tracks:

Building your Toolbox Track:

Call them tricks, hacks, or improvements, is there a better way to get things done?

Presentations for this track will focus on sharing actions that you can adopt, enabling you to improve your results.

Trends Track:

What changes are on the way in the business analysis profession?

Presentations for this track will focus on recent changes have seen, for example introduction of business architecture or user experience, certifications, modeling techniques…

Power of Data Track:

More data is available today than ever before. But does that mean people are better informed and capable of making better decisions – or are they just overwhelmed and more indecisive than ever?

Presentations for this track will focus on providing better understanding of what data is, how to work with stakeholders to identify, define, and document it, how to best have solutions present and utilize it, and/or how to protect and secure it.

Providing Structure Track:

How can the work, or the workers, be structured in a way that will enable repeatable, consistent results?

Presentations for this track should focus on methodologies (agile, lean, and/or dev/ops), value of centers of practice, and/or use of standards/templates topics.

NOTE: The above topics are subject to changed based upon available presenters.
