Description

The Indianapolis Propylaeum presents the Marilyn K. Glick Women's Enrichment Series, a multi-part celebration of women in central Indiana. Each talk begins at 5:00 for conversation, drinks, and hors d'oevures. Lectures begin at 6:00. VIP tickets include a Meet and Greet reception with the speaker, reserved seating during the presentations, and an open bar.

Carolene Mays-Medley is the Executive Director of White River State Park Development Commission and a co-host of Community Link on WISH-TV.

While serving as Commissioner for the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, she was elected President of Mid-America Regulatory Conference, and elected National Chairperson of the Critical Infrastructure, and was named a Top 50 Smart Grid Pioneer in Smart Grid Today for her leadership in cyber and physical security.

Having served three terms in the Indiana Legislature as a State Representative, Carolene received several “Legislator of the Year” awards. She was also President of the Indianapolis Recorder Newspaper and Indiana Minority Business Magazine.

She serves on several boards and has been awarded the Center for Leadership Development’s Madam CJ Walker Outstanding Woman of the Year; Martin University’s Community Leader and Servant Award; Girl Scouts Courage Award; and a Sagamore of the Wabash.

She has been named one of “Indy’s Most Powerful” and one of “Indiana’s Most Influential Women.”

President and Chief Operating Officer of the Indiana Fever.

Previously, Allison served as president of Western Governors University (WGU) Advancement and Chancellor of WGU Indiana. Under her leadership, WGU Indiana experienced unprecedented growth in helping Hoosiers improve their lives by earning a college degree – growing from 250 students to 5,000 students and enrolling students in all 92 counties of the state.

Barber was formerly president of Sodenta, a strategic communications firm, and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense and Special Detail to the Office of Global Communications in the White House. A recipient of the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service, Barber is as a state lead volunteer for the American Red Cross and serves on the boards of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, Techpoint, Indiana Internet and the Elizabeth Dole Hidden Heroes foundation.
