If you have been thinking that you’d like to check out the latest in high-tech tools for managing forests in California, you may want to attend the 2018 Winter Meeting to see what’s out there.  “High-Tech Forestry” will be the topic of our annual winter meeting of the California Society of American Foresters, as we explore the latest technology in resource management along with new uses of older tools.   The 2018 winter meeting will be held in Livermore, CA and will include discussions of some of the new technology used in forestry and other resource management areas. We look forward to an excellent dialog about the future of resource evaluation and monitoring with all members of the California forestry and forest conservation community.

Thursday evening from 5-7pm, there will be a no-host social gathering at the Shadow Puppet Brewing Company, 4771 Arroyo Vista, Suite B.   This will be an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and meet individuals from around the state.

Fridays conference will be held at the Cresta Blanca Room at the Wente Vineyards Restaurant and Event Center located at 5050 Arroyo Road in Livermore.  The conference will start with a brief view of where we’ve been presented by the CaSAF Oral History Project.  This will be followed by talks from the worlds of Government, Academia, and Private industry on topics including the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems, airborne and terrestrial LiDAR, conducting biomass, carbon, and fuel calculations from remote sensing platforms.
