Introducing Regina Louise, Foster Care Graduate & Advocate

Regina Louise spent her early life in foster homes, group homes, and psychiatric facilities—missing years of formal education and being labeled “below average or marginal, at best”. Through optimism and perseverance, Regina has become the definition of resilience and hope. DHS has recognized her for outstanding accomplishments in achieving permanency for children in foster care. Her best-selling memoir, Somebody’s Someone, has been featured on NPR, CBS News, and Lifetime Television.

Introducing Mona Delahooke, PhD

Mona M. Delahooke, PhD is a mother of three and clinical child psychologist with a passion for supporting families and children. She has worked widely with multidisciplinary teams in the area of trauma, developmental, and emotional differences for over 30 years. She is a senior faculty member of the Profectum Foundation and is a trainer and consultant to schools, public/private agencies, and parents. Her blog and new book, Social & Emotional Development in Early Intervention explore the latest translational application of neuroscience to social and emotional development.

There are Continuing Education Units Available!

Mental health professionals in Utah will be happy to know that attendance at this year's symposium qualifies for 5.5 CEUs. Also, licensed foster parents may count this as 6 hours of in-service training.

* Who Qualifies as a Foster Parent?

We're eager to have as many foster parents as possible attend this important learning opportunity—but who qualifies as a foster parent:

  • You're currently licensed by the State of Utah as a foster parent, or…
  • You're currently enrolled in pre-service training to become a licensed foster parent.

** Who Qualifies as an Adoptive Parent?

Parents who've adopted through foster care are part of our family! If you've adopted a child THRU the foster care system in Utah, you qualify!
