Event description

Description

A rite of passage is a ceremony that marks the transition from one phase of life to another. It is most often used to describe the transition from adolescence to adulthood. Delta Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. began its own Rites of Passage/ Beautillion Program in 1990. It has been one of its premier programs ever since. Continuing over the course of eight months, participants gain invaluable learning experience that is rooted in tradition and whose purpose is to raise consciousness, solve problems and affect change. The young men and women in the program are partnered with mentors to assist them in their journey. The theme for this year is MIELIE, which means anything of value and that is growing needs to be nurtured.

Both Delta Rho Omega and the Ivy Rose Foundation are pleased to invite you to join us in celebrating our young people at our Biennial Rites of Passage program this May. African attire is requested but not mandatory. RSVP is suggested as space is limited. A reception will follow our program.
